It started with a “simple” Halloween costume and turned into an obsession.
Hello!
First of all, thank you so much for visiting my site and checking out my work!
My name is Hali and I am one of those “all or nothing” people, so when my daughter wanted to be a mermaid for Halloween, I was all in and got to work crafting the “perfect” costume. Little did I know that in the process of making her costume I would find a new passion…..BLINGING! While adding rhinestones and seashells to her costume I had an overwhelming urge to make everything sparkly, so I did, and that is how I ended up here!
“How did you get that name?”
The name Black Cat Blingary ironically has nothing to do with Halloween, even though it was a Halloween costume that sparked this business. I have had the privilege of black cat companionship since I was 5 years old, not purposefully, they just seem to find me. Let me introduce you to my “bling helper” Eli, I rescued him 12 years ago when he was just 8 weeks old and he hasn’t left my side since. He insists on sitting on or near me anytime I sit down to work and its not uncommon for him to end up covered in glitter and/or rhinestones. I have always been a huge advocate for black cats, as they take longer to be adopted from humane societies and rescues than any other color because of silly superstitions. Did you know in some cultures black cats are actually considered good luck?
